Every year on the first Sunday in September, the traditional Regata Storica is held along the banks of the Grand Canal.
A very important sporting event related to a historical re-enactment of the early days of the Serenissima, when real rowing challenges began.
It is one of the most spectacular, picturesque and involving moments of Venetian city life, able to enchant tourists and enthuse locals.
